Memorial Day Message from Bishop Erik Pohlmeier<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

Each Memorial Day, we are reminded that the freedoms we enjoy have come at great cost. We honor the men and women who gave their lives in military service to our nation. Their courage and selflessness reflect the words of our Lord: \u201cNo one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends\u201d (John 15:13).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also remember the loved ones who grieve their loss. May God, the source of all comfort, bring them peace and healing. As a Church, we stand with them in prayer and compassion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Memorial Day invites us to gratitude\u2014not only for the sacrifices made\u2014but also for the hope we share in eternal life through Christ. We recall all our departed loved ones and commend them to God\u2019s mercy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let us renew our commitment to peace and may the example of those we remember inspire us to live with courage, compassion and faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May we be inspired and called to act with the self-sacrificial love that we honor today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
